Dawn Ius wrote her first book at the age of eight when she discovered writing about monsters was way less scary than looking for the beasties under her bed.
Since then, she's still leery of things that go bump in the night, but she'd like to think her scary storytelling skills have improved. After earning a degree in journalism, Dawn ventured into corporate communications, marketing, and public relations, and currently co-owns Bridge Social Media with YA author Judith Graves.
But her heart belongs to fiction.
Dawn's first children’s book, Fields of Home, was published by the Alberta Canola Producers Commission in 2011, and Gotta Jet, the second in the Chase Duffy series will be available Spring 2012.
Dawn also writes young adult and middle grade fiction under the last name DALTON. Her haunting short story, THREAD OF THE PAST, is included in the Spirited anthology published by Leap Books (2011).
Though she'll always be a BC girl, Dawn now lives in Edmonton, Alberta with her husband, teenage stepdaughter and three bullmastiff hounds. You know, just skulking around. When she isn't working on her latest paranormal romance or thriller story, you can find her reading, watching The Princess Bride (again), or indulging in her unhealthy addiction to
Ian Somerhalder reality TV.
Dawn is the Co-Publisher/Editor of Vine Leaves Literary Journal.
